A true pioneer of soft lures in Japan, Gary Yamamoto was slow to prove the value of his products. Still unknown in the country at the time but widely used in the USA, his "Grub" type lures suffered from a lack of knowledge among anglers as to their proper use and fixtures. But after many years of participation in Japanese black bass tournaments, Yamamoto succeeded in making anglers understand the interest and potential of soft plastic lures. He is now one of the leaders on the Asian market, with constantly evolving products such as the Yamasenko, the Shad Shape Worm or the Yamafrog.
