Weights

The Weights category brings together sinkers and weights used to control depth, fall speed, drift and the behaviour of predator rigs. On a soft bait, the right weight helps you keep contact, adjust the sink rate and present the lure in the right water layer.

Drop shot weights keep a soft bait off the bottom while allowing precise depth control. Bullet sinkers are made for Texas and Carolina rigs: they slide on the line and help fish through cover, along edges, over grass or across bottom structure.

Insert weights and add-on weights let you add weight inside or onto a lure, change its centre of gravity, alter the fall or improve stability. Cheburashka weights combine a mobile sinker with a hook, keeping good lure freedom while making it easy to change weight or hook style.

Choose by depth, current, wind, lure size, required stealth and target species. A weight that is too light loses contact; one that is too heavy can kill the lure action. Look for the lightest weight that still lets you fish cleanly and feel bottom contact or bites.
