Leader

The Leader category brings together the rigs and materials used between the main line and the lure to add strength, stealth or safety. A good leader protects against teeth, reduces cut-offs and lets you adapt the rig to the target fish, lure and fishing spot.

Steel leaders and 7-strand or 19-strand wire are useful for pike, big predators and situations where bite-offs are likely. Titanium offers more flexibility, better shape memory and strong resistance for hard baits, swimbaits and large soft bait rigs.

Fluorocarbon is chosen when stealth matters, especially in clear water or for zander, perch, sea bass and some saltwater rigs. It resists abrasion better than standard nylon, but it does not always replace steel or titanium when pike teeth are involved.

This category also includes stingers, shallow rigs, ready-made leaders, sleeves, clips and fixing accessories. Choose by species, lure size, rod power, line diameter, water clarity and the amount of cover. The right leader should protect the rig without killing the lure’s action.
