Bladed

The Bladed category brings together jig heads, hooks and rigs fitted with a blade to add flash and vibration to a soft bait. The blade creates both visual signal and water movement, helping predators locate the lure during steady retrieves, over grass, along edges or in slightly stained water.

These rigs work with shads, finesse baits, soft swimbaits and small soft lures for perch, zander, black bass, pike and sea bass. They are useful when a standard soft bait does not draw enough attention or when fish follow but refuse to strike.

A willow blade is longer and gives strong flash with less drag. It suits faster retrieves, clearer water and active fish. A Colorado blade is rounder, pushes more water and gives a stronger thump, making it useful in stained water, low light or slower presentations.

Choose by jig head weight, soft bait size, depth, retrieve speed and cover density. Make sure the blade spins freely, does not kill the shad’s action and that the hook size matches the volume of the soft bait.
