Varivas Super Trout Advance Max Power PE X8 is a low-stretch main line for trout lure fishing. The braid transmits changes in the pull of a lure, while the white marks help you follow the line as it swings across a run. Each spool holds 150m. PE0.6 is the finest option; PE1.5 gives you a higher breaking strain for larger trout.
A smooth eight-strand weave lets the line slip through the guides on a cast and bed down neatly in an FG knot. If your lure is tracking close to stones, a Varivas Trout Shock Leader in fluorocarbon takes the rubbing at the business end of the rig.
The PE number is a Japanese line size, not a diameter in millimetres. The two strength figures answer different questions: PE1 averages 18.1lb and has a maximum rating of 20.2lb. Neither figure is the breaking strength of your knot or leader.
