The Cavalla is built around a frame and a one-piece left-side flange made of 6061-T6 aluminum. Its lever brake uses Carbonite discs lubricated with Cal’s. The lineup includes several gear ratios, in single- or double-speed configurations, with right- or left-hand crank versions.
Choosing a Cavalla starts with the crank side and the drive train. RH versions have the crank on the right; LH versions have it on the left. Some use a single gear ratio of 6.4:1; others offer two ratios—6.4:1 and 3.8:1, or 4.7:1 and 2.1:1—depending on the model.
The brake is lever-operated. Its Carbonite discs are lubricated with Cal’s grease, housed in a rigid frame whose body and left flange are machined from a single piece of 6061-T6 aluminum.
The gears are made of 17-4 stainless steel, and the mechanism features four stainless steel bearings. The anodized aluminum crank is fitted with an Ergo Grip handle. An audible ratchet can be enabled or disabled, with a silent anti-reverse mechanism during retrieval.
