Folding gathers the feather fibers before securing them in the provided pliers. You can prepare CDC on its own or add synthetic fibers to create the collar. Align the materials before grasping them to maintain their arrangement during transfer. The pliers then hold this assembly in place while it is positioned in the thread loop. Measure out the amount of fibers carefully at this stage: a small fly’s collar requires very little material.
