The T440 is used to twist fibers distributed between the two strands of a loop. The bearing ensures smooth rotation once the thread is tensioned. The amount of material is adjusted before twisting: a light layer is better suited for a small collar than an overly loaded loop. After twisting, the strand is wound around the shank, folding the fibers backward. The tool accommodates dubbing, hair, and feather fibers prepared in the loop.
