Ragot Brochet is a nylon backing line available in four diameters. The 0.28 mm version comes in 500 m; the larger diameters offer greater strength but come in shorter lengths. The choice depends on the reel's capacity.
The 0.28mm spool offers 500m with a breaking strength of 5.6kg. The 0.30mm spool contains 480m, and the breaking strength increases to 6.5kg. The 0.35mm line offers 360m with a breaking strength of 8.1kg; the 0.40mm line offers 280m with a breaking strength of 11.2kg.
These specifications allow you to estimate the amount of nylon needed for spooling. The capacity indicated on the reel must be compared to the selected diameter, as the same spool does not hold the same length for all diameters.
