The Daiwa Tapered Shock Leader Surfcasting is a tapered leader, commonly known as a rat tail, specially designed to increase casting distances in surfcasting. The leader gradually changes from a strong 0.57 mm diameter, which withstands the pressure of casting, to a smaller diameter which is easily knotted to the reel line. Technical anglers in both competition and leisure will appreciate the discreet translucent color. The red color provides good visibility of the assembly to facilitate untangling, especially at night.
