The forged and anodized aluminum spool features a line-retention band for the braided line. The mechanism is based on 5+1 stainless steel bearings, a brass pinion, and a carbon/stainless steel multi-disc drag. The 750 and 1000 sizes have a gear ratio of 5.2:1; while the 2000, 2500, and 3000 models have a 6.0:1 ratio. Choose the size based on the rod’s balance and line capacity. The maximum drag on the smaller sizes differs from that of the larger ones.
