The Jaw is a spinning rod series designed for beginners casting in freshwater. Its carbon blank, EVA handle, and graphite reel seat make it easy to get started. The models are available in different lure weight classes: casting distance is the primary factor to consider when choosing a rod.
The Jaw lets you put together your first spinning setup using the lures you want to use. For lighter weights, the 6’6’’ L covers 3–14 g. At the same length, the ML covers 7–21 g; in the 7’0’’ size, the ML is rated for 10–35 g.
The letters L, ML, or M do not replace the weight range listed for each model. The stiffer versions expand the range of uses, up to the 8’0’’ H model, which handles 21–70g.
The handle is made of EVA and the reel seat is made of graphite. The rods break down into two sections. Most of these models have a fast action, with the 8’0’’ H model featuring a moderate-fast action.
