Magnets

Fly net magnets and magnetic clips keep your landing net accessible without occupying your hands while fly fishing. This category includes net release and carrying systems from brands such as JMC, Scientific Anglers, Loon Outdoors, Orvis, C&F Design, McLean, Rapala, Daiwa and Megabass.

Attached to a vest, chest pack, waders or back carry system, a good magnet lets you release the net during the fight and put it back quickly after landing the fish. It is especially useful in rivers, when wading, on reservoirs or whenever you fish light and mobile.

When choosing, check magnet strength, attachment type, safety cord, bulk and compatibility with your landing net. A weak magnet may release too easily; a well-sized one keeps the net ready without getting in the way.
