The Predator Wire Leader from Scientific Anglers is specially designed to meet the challenges of fishing for sharp-toothed predators like pike. Available in a 2-pack, these leaders are the ultimate weapon for fly fishermen targeting the toughest, most abrasive species.
Each 7.5-foot (approx. 2.3-meter) leader is designed to facilitate the turnover of larger flies, thanks to a tapered profile that ensures smooth, accurate presentation. The main part of the leader is made from an abrasion-resistant material capable of withstanding the harshest conditions, ensuring durability and reliability.
The 15-inch (approx. 38 cm) terminal section is made from 1x7 stainless steel wire, resistant to predator teeth, with a black nylon coating for reduced underwater visibility. This design minimizes the risk of cuts and ensures that your catch remains secure right through to capture.
For secure fly tying, each leader is fitted with sturdy and reliable black single-barrel sleeves. These sleeves allow easy and secure tying, reducing the risk of losing your lure in mid-action.
Predator Wire Leaders are available in two configurations:
A 20LB AR tapered leader over 7.5 feet, with a 15-inch section of 1x7, black-coated, 20LB stainless steel wire.
A 20LB AR tapered leader on 7.5 feet, with a 15-inch section of black-coated 1x7 stainless steel wire, 45LB.
These specifications give anglers the flexibility to target a wide range of toothy predators, adapting their equipment to the specific conditions and size of fish targeted.
