The Hakai DT is a compact casting reel with a LITECAST magnesium frame. The three gear ratios offer 64 cm, 76 cm, or 84 cm of line retrieval per turn. An externally adjustable magnetic drag controls the spool during casting; the hybrid fighting drag has a maximum capacity of 9 kg.
The Hakai DT features a compact LITECAST magnesium frame, weighing between 167g and 170g depending on the version. The difference in gear ratios directly affects line retrieval: 64 cm per turn for the 6.2:1, 76 cm for the 7.3:1, and 84 cm for the 8.1:1.
The DTS version also uses the 8.1:1 gear ratio, but with a lower line capacity: 70m of 0.31mm line, compared to 100m for the DT models. It allows you to choose a different spool without changing the retrieve speed.
The magnetic drag is externally adjustable to control spool rotation during the cast. The fighting drag, controlled by a star drag system, combines stainless steel and carbon fiber and provides a maximum drag of 9 kg.
The gear system features a 42-mm brass drive gear. The Fliteshaft hollow shaft and the Flite spool contribute to the lightweight design; a built-in indicator allows you to record the diameter of the line being used.
