Moulinet Okuma Alijos 2-Speed

The two gear ratios on the Alijos models allow you to change speeds while fishing. The AJ-5 models feature 6.4:1 and 3.8:1 ratios; the AJ-12 models range from 6.4:1 to 2.1:1. The choice of model also depends on the amount of line it holds.

For jigging, the 530g AJ-5N holds 385m of 0.32mm line, compared to 570m for the 550g AJ-5. The AJ-12 models offer other combinations of capacity and retrieve ratio. The AJ-16, designed for trolling, uses ratios of 4.3:1 and 1.3:1 and holds 800 m of 0.42 mm line.

The body and left side plate are machined from a single piece of aluminum. The Carbonite Dual Force drag, lubricated with Cal’s grease, is controlled by a lever; a thrust bearing reduces lateral stress when the drag is engaged.

The 90-mm handle is positioned on the right side of the models offered here. The bearings and CRC coating are designed to resist corrosion.
