Illex Blade Blaster 14G

The BLADE BLASTER will be your new go-to lure for fishing shallow areas, weed beds, and vegetation-covered areas. This bladed jig was developed in collaboration between our ILLEX Pro-Staff angler Marc Ptacovsky and our product manager Thomas Vogels. Marc wanted to combine two types of lures into one. First, he wanted to retain the shape of the “JUNGLE BLASTER” Swim-Jig head for its key features: its smooth glide over obstacles and its ability to penetrate through weed beds. This ideal shape has been paired with a metal blade of our own design that emits highly attractive signals, giving its voluminous silicone skirt a very vibrant action with a simple retrieve—as soon as the lure hits the water. The skirt is secured with a stainless steel wire binding for greater durability against pike teeth. An eyelet has been placed under the head to attach a blade or simply to add an ILLEX ‘JOHN WEIGHT’ sinker to adjust the swimming depth. Depending on fishing conditions, the BLADE BLASTER can be equipped with a soft plastic lure as a trailer to give it more volume; a “pin-tail” style like our MAGIC SWING TAIL 4 or 5, a “shad” style like the MAGIC SLIM SHAD 4 or 5, or simply a crayfish-style lure like the CHUNK CRAW. Of course, the BLADE BLASTER is “lead-free”! Designed primarily for pike fishing, it’s also well-suited for targeting other species such as perch, black bass, zander, and catfish.
