When just a few turns of thread already take up a lot of space on the hook, Synton allows you to work with a very fine material. It consists of two monofilament microfibers joined and wound together, for ties and small fly bodies.
Hends notes that bodies made with this material become partially translucent when wet. The color of the thread therefore plays a role in the final result, beyond its function as a fastener. On a small imitation, regular wraps help keep the head and body compact.
