The DCDC is distributed along the body without attaching an entire feather. A thin strand twisted around the hook wire forms a subtle abdomen, while a lightly loaded loop leaves more fibers loose around the thorax. When tying a dry fly or an emerger, avoid packing this CDC too tightly. After winding, gently loosen any trapped fibers without unraveling the body. Adjust their length to match the size of the insect being imitated.
