The Hamster Dubbing Hends combines two textures in a single fur: a very fine, dense undercoat accompanied by a few fine, glassy-looking guard hairs. This composition is suitable for both nymph heads and entire fly bodies tied with natural materials.
The undercoat is used to build the base of the body; lightly brushing it then brings out the guard hairs to suggest small legs. Gradually build up the volume with small pinches, then separate the fibers where desired. The version shown here is black.
