When tied on a chironomid, the coils of Flexxi Floss Hends create a textured body. This material comes in the form of a flat, highly stretchy rubber ribbon that can also be used to wrap around another material.

The tension applied to the ribbon affects its width during assembly: keep it even for consistent wraps. The color palette includes natural body tones and fluorescent shades for more visible details. Hends notes that the resulting body can be finished with varnish.
