Apply the LAK with a needle to create a thin layer between the wraps of thread. Spread apart any hair or feather fibers that need to remain loose. Check that the eye isn’t clogged before letting the fly dry. Keep the flies separate while they dry so their fibers don’t stick together. If the varnish thickens, adjust its consistency with a compatible thinner.
