DEPS NEW HIGHSIDER
It was in 2007 that DEPS marketed the original HIGHSIDER model, a highly innovative lure for its time and precursor to the multi-section swimbait that have become extremely popular today, such as the Strout from Biwaa or the famous Balam from Madness.
The new version renamed NEW HIGHSIDER 172 has been improved in several respects. It retains its fundamental characteristics, namely a 4-section articulated body, but now has a very flexible elastomer tail unlike the old model which was equipped with a feather hook in the tail.
The new body is now equipped with a very flexible elastomer tail.
The new body is now made of ABS, whereas the previous ones were made of expanded resin. The major evolution brought by Okumura lies in its now removable bib which will enable it to considerably broaden its spectrum of use. The clever fastening system allows the bib to be removed with a simple press on the clip.
.(In case of breakage or loss, spare bibs and tails are sold separately).
Fishermen of pikes who knew the first model will be delighted with this new option, which some made themselves in custom mode. The lip gives the NEW HIGHSIDER 172 a very tight fast rolling action when cranking. Made of polycarbonate, it is very resistant and allows you to pass through obstacles and weedbeds up to a depth of around 1.5m. It is therefore very interesting to use in the manner of a crankbait in rocks and dead trees. Without the lip, the NEW HIGHSIDER 172 will have a wider swimming action and can be reeled in at very high speed to simulate a fish on the run and can be weighted to achieve the desired swimming depth.
.
To make it slow sinking, you can add adhesive lead plates under the belly like the Zappu Board Weight or clipasble ballast like the John Weight to make it sinking.
It's also possible to adjust the opening angle of the first joint for a more or less ample action. (It's advisable to put a dot of threadlocker glue on the thread to avoid losing the adjustment screw if you loosen it).
It's also possible to adjust the opening angle of the first joint for a wider or narrower action.
The NEW HIGHSIDER 172 is sold with a case that protects its tail from warping or melting when in contact with other plastics.
This first floating model measures 172 mm for 74 g. 2 other sizes are currently being prototyped (145 mm and 220 mm) but no release date has yet been announced. The first color chart consists of 6 colors, with a dominance of natural dresses for clear waters.
