Ragot Mer nylon is available in diameters ranging from 0.275 mm to 0.60 mm. It comes in various lengths for spooling reels. The selection is based first on the combination of diameter and strength, and then on the amount of line needed.
The smaller diameters in the Mer line offer the longest lengths: 500 m in 0.275 mm for 5.6 kg, and 480 m in 0.30 mm for 6.5 kg.
The intermediate diameters are available in 0.35 mm, 0.40 mm, and 0.45 mm. Their breaking strengths are 8.1 kg, 11.2 kg, and 13.2 kg, respectively, for lengths of 360 m, 280 m, and 220 m.
For a stronger line, the 0.50 mm offers 180 m and 16 kg; the 0.60 mm, 140 m and 23.3 kg. The amount of line available on each spool must therefore be taken into account along with the reel’s capacity.
