The DEXTER EEL 280 was specifically developed to target trophy pike and record-breaking catfish, but its use isn’t limited to these two species. We strongly recommend using it for marine species such as large cod, large pollock, and even the famous halibut. Like its smaller counterparts, the DEXTER EEL 150 and 210, the DEXTER EEL 280 is infused at its core with our “NITRO BOOSTER” crustacean attractant and can be rigged or used in a variety of ways (jig heads, wide-gape offset hooks for Texas or weightless rigs). Its swimming action is particularly effective when “cranking,” when prospecting near vegetation cover or seagrass beds, or when letting it drift naturally over drop-offs!!! The DEXTER EEL’s action was designed to offer an alternative to large shad-style soft plastics. The low-frequency vibrations emitted by the DEXTER EEL are detected from a distance by the predators’ lateral line, yet do not arouse their suspicion. Even at very slow retrieval speeds, it already comes to life, allowing you to slow down the retrieve when passing through a known holding area.
