The Rockaway features a Long Cast aluminum spool and a rigid metal handle. The 6000 and 8000 sizes share a 5.3:1 gear ratio but differ in capacity, weight, and retrieve. The 8000 retrieves more line with each turn of the handle.
The Rockaway 6000 retrieves 104 cm per turn and holds 270 m of 0.35 mm line. The 8000 retrieves 123 cm per turn and holds 385 m at the same diameter. These differences allow you to choose between two line capacities without relying solely on the gear ratio, which is identical at 5.3:1.
The 6000 weighs 486g with a maximum drag of 12kg; the 8000 weighs 531g and reaches 16kg. The Long Cast spool is made of anodized aluminum, and the frame, side plates, and rotor are made of graphite.
The metal handle is designed to minimize deformation. The mechanism includes a brass pinion, 4+1 bearings, and a Quick-Set anti-reverse system.
