The Raid Japan Osakana Slide 170 is an articulated soft swimbait with a cavity in the head allowing the line to be attached directly to the main treble hook. It's a slow floating lure that becomes slow sinking when combined with the supplied treble hook. The advantages of this set-up are to increase the natural swimming attraction of the lure, to reduce stalling by preventing the predator from leaning on the lure during the fight, and to extend its life by allowing it to slide along the line after it has disengaged from the hook at the moment of attack.
