The Spectra DS can form a short thorax behind a bead or blend into the body. Spread out the fibers before twisting them to prevent a clump from forming at the front of the hook. For a small stream nymph, use a fine strand that allows the abdomen to stand out clearly. A fuller body is better suited for lake flies where you want more volume.
