The Original Mitraillette is a rig created by André Ragot in 1954. With today’s versions, you can choose the number of hooks, their size, and the line diameter. These three criteria must be considered together to select the right line.
The Original line includes short rigs with a limited number of hooks and more heavily rigged versions. The 3H1/0 and 3H2/0 feature three hooks, on 0.40mm and 0.50mm line, respectively. The 4H2/0 uses 0.50mm line with four hooks.
For the five-hook models, the No. 4 is rigged with 0.35mm line, the No. 2 with 0.40mm, the No. 1/0 with 0.50mm, and the No. 2/0 with 0.60mm. The 7H3/0 features seven No. 3/0 hooks on 0.70mm line.
The model designation therefore indicates the hook configuration. The line diameter must be checked at the same time, as the same hook size can be used with different rigs.
