Lightly run the thread over the wax, then place a small amount of stretched fibers. Work this first layer before adding dubbing. A light application keeps the tuft easy to spread, without sticky clumps. Adjust the amount of wax to the texture of the fibers: a soft material sometimes requires less than a firm fiber. Work in small strokes to maintain control over the thickness of the body.
