Set aside the long tips if you want to create legs. The shorter fibers form the base of the dubbing, to which you then add the desired amount of guard hairs. For a nymph, a small, evenly distributed pinch is enough to form the thorax without making it too thick. Take only the amount needed so that other textures remain available on the skin. It is approximately 31 cm long, with the variations typical of a natural material.
