The HDV 304 is the fly of choice for spiders, where the feather makes up the bulk of the silhouette. A stiff hackle supports the dry fly, while a soft feather follows the water’s movements on a wet fly. Reserve the space for this collar before finishing the body, to keep the head short behind the eye. The length of the fibers then determines the wingspan of the fly. The Spider is barbless, finished in Black Nickel, and packaged in bundles of 25.
