Hends Peacock Eyes are naturally colored peacock ocelli. Their fibers are used as-is to create textured bodies, particularly on bug-style flies where the peacock’s texture is part of the silhouette.
By removing the small barbules, you can prepare a quill for creating thinner bodies for nymphs, midge flies, and other flies. This preparation therefore changes the texture of the fly: a fluffy fiber for texture, and a quill for a fine, defined wrap.
