The Wave X is designed for beginners in long-distance surfcasting. Its worm gear drive ensures slow spool rotation. The fast, progressive drag is protected by a Hydro Block seal, housed in a corrosion-resistant graphite frame.
The two Wave X models do not retrieve line at the same speed. The 6000 retrieves 103 cm per crank turn, compared to 92 cm for the 8000. The 8000, however, has a capacity of 385 m of 0.35 mm line; the 6000 holds 315 m of 0.33 mm line.
The weight also differs: 618 g for the 6000 and 714 g for the 8000. Both versions feature a maximum drag of 16 kg and 3+1 bearings.
The slow oscillation is controlled by a worm gear transmission. The Flite Drive system assists with retrieval, while the fast, progressive drag benefits from the Hydro Block seal. The Slim Blade body is made of corrosion-resistant graphite.
