The DRT Klash Frenzy is a 400 mm-class giant bait built around a very different concept from a conventional sealed hard swimbait. It measures 425 mm with the Variable Tail and approximately 455 mm with the V-Tail, while the dry lure weighs about 290 g before hooks and optional tuning are taken into account.
Its defining feature is DRT’s Hybrid Chamber System. Water enters dedicated openings when the lure lands and becomes part of the internal mass while the Frenzy is in the water; when the lure is retrieved, that water drains back out. The result is a giant bait whose behaviour in the water is influenced not only by its dry weight but also by the water held inside the body during use.
The Frenzy is designed as a tuning platform. It is supplied with a lip, a Variable Tail, a V-Tail and tungsten tuning weights in 5 g, 7 g and 10 g sizes. Changing tail type alters the rear profile and movement, while adding weight toward the rear changes balance and can increase slide amplitude when the lure is used without the lip.
The lure also provides separate line-attachment positions for different configurations. Lip-in presentations favour controlled swimming and slower technical use, while lip-out configurations open the door to wider glide and slide movements. This modularity is the reason the Frenzy should be approached as a system rather than a lure with one fixed retrieve.
At around 290 g dry and more than 42 cm long, the Frenzy requires a true giant-bait setup. Rod, reel, line, leader, snaps or split rings and hooks must all be selected with repeated casting of this class of lure in mind. DRT recommends 2/0-class hooks for the standard setup; hook choice and added tuning weights will alter final balance, so adjustments should be made carefully and tested in the water.
