The Xorus Patchinko 125 is the mid-size version of the Patchinko topwater concept, measuring 125 mm and weighing 18 g. It keeps the family’s long-casting profile and walking-the-dog behaviour while offering a more restrained silhouette than the larger models. That size makes the 125 particularly useful when predators are feeding on medium-to-small baitfish or when clearer water and fishing pressure call for less surface disturbance. It remains large enough to cast efficiently from the bank and to maintain good visual presence, but it is easier to keep in a productive zone than a larger, more aggressive surface lure. The Patchinko 125 can be worked across a broad range of retrieve speeds. A fast, rhythmic cadence is useful for covering water and triggering reaction bites, while slower rod-tip movements and slightly more slack allow the lure to turn more tightly from side to side. Adding pauses can be effective around current seams, isolated structure or visible feeding activity where you want to keep the lure near the strike zone. Its balance is designed to support stable, long casts for a 125 mm surface bait. From shore, this is useful when you need to reach fish beyond breaking waves, harbour structures or shallow flats without immediately moving to a larger lure. The lure is floating and is rigged with Decoy YW77 treble hooks and split rings. Inspect the hooks regularly after contact with rocks or hard structure, and choose tackle that allows the lure to move freely rather than overpowering it with an unnecessarily heavy leader.
