To catch steelhead and salmon, it's essential to swim the fly at the right angle, depth and speed. The right rod can help you solve this conundrum.
But as these fish often require a thousand casts, preferences also play a big part. You can catch the same fish in the same waters with a one-handed rod, a short two-handed rod, or the longest rods. You can use floating line, sinking line, dry flies, wet flies, traditional casting, riffle hitch, nymph and indicator. Long belly, Skagit, Scandi. The variations are endless. We understand this, which is why we've created a series of rods that will satisfy all your preferences.
Swing rods have been meticulously developed and are loaded with technology and attention to detail to meet these requirements.
Tested and used by professional anglers and expert casters from Alaska to the Great Lakes, from Canada to Norway, and from the Pacific Northwest to the Northeast, we've left no stone unturned to ensure that every rod is a perfect fit for its purpose.
Swing rods feature progressive loading actions, fast retrieve speed, directional stability and a light feel in hand. This is achieved by combining newly tuned profiles with our multi-directional, multi-modulus layouts, ARC2 reinforcement, Carbon Link resin system and the finest components.
Revolutionary components include new tangle-free titanium stripping guides with silicon nitride inserts that allow casts to extend further and help prevent knots in running mono or braided lines. Other parts of the rod are fitted with Snake Brand Universal snake guides to complete the package.
We've also designed a new all-machined aluminum reel seat with aggressive threads for use with cold hands, a Type 3 hard coating and specially machined reel foot pockets that firmly hold today's performance reels and most vintage reel feet. New front and rear handle designs, turned from Flor grade cork, ensure comfort, feel and longevity.
Like all Scott fly rods, Swing rods are handcrafted, one by one, in Montrose, Colorado.
